Muhammad Waqas Athar, M.D., a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, is an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is Director of Education in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Associate Program Director for Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program. He is recipient of Awards for Clinical and Teaching Excellence. He is a founding member of Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. His research interests include the use of bedside exam and technologies to improve prompt and accurate diagnosis of acute diseases in general and cardiovascular diseases in particular.
