Dr. Lisa Xu is an Assistant Professor and board-certified dermatologist in the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Xu specializes in phototherapy, laser surgery, medical and cosmetic dermatology. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at Washington University in St. Louis where she was at the top of her class. After medical school, she completed her dermatology training at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan where she was awarded the first prize research award by the Michigan Dermatologic Society for her research in laser medicine. Dr. Xu also served as a faculty dermatologist at Indiana University where she was Director of the Clinical Research Unit.
Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Xu completed a prestigious laser and cosmetic fellowship at Harvard Medical School under Dr. R. Rox Anderson, a leading expert and inventor of most of the laser technologies currently used in dermatology. Dr. Xu presents regularly at regional and national conferences and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Dr. Xu is experienced in all aspects of laser surgery including but not limited to facial rejuvenation, laser hair removal, treatment of birthmarks, blood vessels, brown spots, tattoos and scars. She is also an expert injector of Botox™, hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm Ultra™, Ultra Plus™, Juvederm Voluma™, Restylane™, Perlane™, Belotero™), and sclerotherapy treatment for leg veins.
