Biography

Dr. Todd Schlachter is a Clinical Instructor of Vascular and Interventional Oncology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After completing his Interventional Radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins, he has worked in the clinical environment providing minimally invasive, sometime curative but often palliative, treatments to cancer patients in need. One of the unique facets of working at Johns Hopkins has been Interventional Oncology clinic, to evaluate and follow-up patients for advanced interventional therapies including chemo/radio-embolization; uterine fibroid embolization; venous insufficiency, including pelvic congestion syndrome and varicosities as well as vascular malformations among others.

A native of New Jersey, he spent a good portion of his youth traveling. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology and Economics at the Vanderbilt University, and began working in Computer software before going to medical school.  He completed a year of surgery at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and then diagnostic radiology residency in Hartford at the University of Connecticut.
