Dr. Dugas is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Following her emergency medicine residency with the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Dr. Dugas joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2010 to pursue a research fellowship. Completing her fellowship in 2012, Dr. Dugas remained on faculty to continue her research at Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Dugas’ current research focus is the detection and management of infectious diseases in the emergency department. Her work spans from initial detection of infection through clinical application of surveillance tools, to directed antimicrobial use based on integration of surveillance and diagnostic testing. She is currently involved in numerous cross-disciplinary efforts integrating clinical medicine with public health, engineering and the basic sciences.
