Dr. Lindiwe F. Greenwood joined Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP) in 2011 and made JHCP Fulton her permanent home in December 2013. Dr. Greenwood is a board-certified family practitioner. Although she practices the full scope of outpatient family medicine, she has particular interests in women’s health, preventive medicine, working with adolescents, and complimentary and behavioral medicine. Dr. Greenwood is also affiliated with Howard County General Hospital.
Prior to joining JHCP, Dr. Greenwood owned and operated her own practice in her hometown of Columbia, Md.
Dr. Greenwood completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where she was an Echols Scholar. She then completed her medical school education at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Dr. Greenwood completed her family medicine residency at East Carolina University.
Dr. Greenwood had the fortunate opportunity to be involved in health care all over the country. She spent some time practicing medicine on the White River Apache Reservation in Arizona, and in Baton Rouge, La, as well as training in rural North Carolina. She has also practiced in College Park and Baltimore. In addition to working in multiple geographic areas, she has worked in several different capacities including working in addictions medicine for the Health Department in Howard County, as well as serving as an attending physician at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. There, she taught internal medicine residents, OB/GYN residents and house staff.
Dr. Greenwood is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, an honor bestowed on a selected group of the academy’s members. She has also served in several organizational roles while practicing ambulatory medicine.
Dr. Greenwood has done public speaking engagements for schools, as well as various professional organizations and churches. She is a proud member of Jack and Jill of America, The Links, Inc., and Delta Sigma Theta Service Sorority. She enjoys, cooking, traveling, singing and movies. Her greatest joy is spending time with her husband and their three children.
