Alexis G. Malkin, O.D., is an instructor of ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, specializing in low vision and vision rehabilitation. In addition to evaluating and treating patients with irreversible vision loss, Dr. Malkin is involved in research on quality of life outcome measures for those with low vision.
Dr. Malkin completed her optometry training at New England College of Optometry, where she graduated salutatorian. She completed her residency at the Northport (NY) VA Hospital with a focus in primary care optometry, low vision rehabilitation and vision therapy. Dr. Malkin then completed the Lions Vision Rehabilitation Fellowship at Wilmer in 2010, after which she joined the Wilmer faculty.
