Dr. Jennifer Teitelbaum Palmer is an instructor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She specializes in mood disorders, including major depression and bipolar disorder, and is particularly interested in reproductive-related mood syndromes in women, such as post-partum and perimenopausal depression and the treatment of mood disorders during pregnancy.
Dr. Palmer received her B.A. from Wesleyan University and her M.F.A. from the Yale University School of Drama. She earned her medical degree from Yale Medical School. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Maryland and her psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Palmer completed a fellowship in affective disorders at Johns Hopkins, during which she was involved in clinical trials studying bipolar depression and mood disorders in women during pregnancy.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Palmer sees patients in consultation through the Johns Hopkins Women''s Mood Disorders Center. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the Maryland Psychiatric Society. She is also an associate member of the Society of Biological Psychiatry.
