Background
Dr. Katherine Norgaard is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her area of clinical expertise is Adult Anesthesia. Additionally, she has become Director of Quality and Safety for Endoscopy Anesthesia.
Dr. Norgaard earned her M.D. from the State University of New York School of Medicine at Stony Brook and completed her residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Norgaard joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2006.
Dr. Norgaard currently has an active role in simulation training for the Johns Hopkins Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine Residency College Days. There she leads CA1, CA2 and CA3 residents through clinical emergency scenarios in a safe environment in preparation for real-life scenarios. Dr. Norgaard is a leader in training residents in difficult technical skills and helps them develop the effective communication, teamwork and leadership skills needed to handle the rapidly evolving demands encountered in the practice of anesthesiology.
