Dr. Judy Huang specializes in the comprehensive treatment of cerebrovascular disorders such as brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), brain aneurysms, moya moya disease, carotid artery stenosis, and cavernous malformations. Dr. Huang also specializes in the surgical treatment of Chiari malformations and trigeminal neuralgia. Her philosophy of patient-centered care is to take an individualized approach to each person and their unique situation.

Dr. Huang is a committed educator and serves as Director of the Neurosurgery Residency Program at Johns Hopkins. As a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Huang plays an influential role in the training standards and certification of all practicing neurosurgeons across the United States.

Research Summary

Dr. Huang's research concentrates on stroke and vascular diseases. She is further investigating gender differences in stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases. She has published extensively on experimental studies of stroke and on arteriovenous malformations. She is also a co-author of a widely used handbook of operative neurosurgery. Dr. Huang also performs clinical research in areas such as arteriovenous malformations, intracerebral hemorrhage and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
