Dr. William J. Ravekes is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Ravekes specializes in fetal echocardiography and the perioperative and intensive care of fetuses, infants, children and adults with congenital heart disease. He also serves as medical director of the Pediatric Heart Transplant Program.
Dr. Ravekes earned his medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed a pediatrics residency at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford and a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. He served on the faculty of Texas Children’s Hospital prior to joining Johns Hopkins.
He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board in Cardiology.
His primary research interest is fetal echocardiography. He has published more than 50 scholarly articles.
