Biography

Dr. Ihab Kamel is a Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science and the Department of Oncology. Dr. Kamel currently serves as the Clinical Director of MRI at Johns Hopkins University. His work focuses on body imaging, with expertise in hepatobiliary imaging.

He earned his M.S. from University of Michigan and his M.D. from Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his residency at New York Medical College and performed a fellowship in body imaging at BID Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Dr. Kamel received the 2004 Faculty Teacher of the Year award for the Department of Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was recognized in 2008 as a Melvin M. Figley Fellow in Radiology Journalism.
