Background

Dr. Janine Bullard is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include neonatal-perinatal medicine and neonatology. She serves as the medical director of Neonatal Respiratory Care at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Bullard's research interests focus on neonatal resuscitation and the use of high-fidelity simulation. She is developing an interdepartmental and multidisciplinary project with obstetrics to simulate delivery room resuscitation that includes faculty, fellows, resident house staff, nursing, respiratory and support staff.

She is also involved with developing and implementing quality improvement activities with individual performances and system processes within the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Dr. Bullard holds a B.S. from the University of Virginia and an M.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in neonatology at Johns Hopkins. She is certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Bullard's research interest is in neonatal resuscitation and the use of high-fidelity simulation. She is developing an interdepartmental and multidisciplinary project with obstetrics to simulate delivery room resuscitation that includes faculty, fellows, resident housestaff, nursing, respiratory and support staff. The project's objectives include individual enhancement of skills in addition to communication and team building.
