Katarzyna J. Macura, M.D., Ph.D., FACR, is an Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science, as well as an Associate Professor of both Oncology and Urology.
Dr. Macura specializes in diagnostic radiology—particularly pelvic imaging of both men and women. She joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2001. Dr. Macura established a clinical and research prostate imaging program at Hopkins with focus on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
A past president of the American Association for Women Radiologists (2005), Dr. Macura was once voted among the nation’s top five women's imaging specialists by the readers of Medical Imaging Magazine and she was named 2006 Outstanding Teacher of the Year by Hopkins radiology residents. Dr. Macura was also named twice, in 2012 and 2014, Honored Educator by the Radiological Society of North America.
Dr. Macura serves as president of the Maryland Radiological Society (2013-2015), the Maryland Chapter of the American College of Radiology, and is active in a number of other national and international radiology organizations and serves as a reviewer for prestigious radiology journals.
