Karen I. Bolla, Ph.D., is a researcher and practitioner specializing in neuropsychology. She is an associate professor of Neurology and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Bayview Medical Center and of Environmental Health Sciences - Division of Occupational Medicine at Bloomberg School of Public Health.
She has published extensively on topics related to determining the brain-behavior relationships in the areas of substance abuse (marijuana, alcohol, cocaine, MDMA), neurotoxicant exposures and normal and abnormal aging, using neurocognitive measures alone and in combination with neuroimaging methods.
Dr. Bolla is a visiting scientist at NIDA - IRP and she has been named a research expert on marijuana studies by the office of National Drug Control Policy, Office of the President of the United States. As director of Neuropsychology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center she also performs neuropsychological evaluations in her private practice.
