Background
Dr. David Bastacky graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1985, completed a one year general practice dental residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and spend three years at the Washington Hospital Center where he completed his oral and maxillofacial training.
To stay up to date on the latest research and technology, Dr. Bastacky established the Greater Catonsville Dental Study Club. As the president, he coordinates speakers to present timely information, enabling him and his colleagues to continue their education locally and meet with each other on a regular basis. Following on the heels of success from his first study club, he later established the GBMC OMFS Study Club. He attends professional conferences in other parts of the U.S. and abroad and has made contacts with dentists from all over the world.
Since 2004, Dr. Bastacky has been on the faculty in the Division of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a part-time clinical instructor. At Johns Hopkins, he supervises and teaches the dental and oral surgery residents.
