Dr. Philip Spevak is an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has special expertise using echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in the evaluation of congenital heart disease. 

Dr. Spevak is director of the Center for Non-Invasive Imaging of Congenital and Acquired Heart Disease at Johns Hopkins.

After graduating from Williams College with a B.A., Dr. Spevak received a master’s degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital and performed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. 

Dr. Spevak’s research interests include health policy and non-invasive cardiac imaging.

He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the Society for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging. more
