Dr. Dudas is chief academic hospitalist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He is an associate professor of pediatrics and associate director of general pediatrics and adolescent medicine in the Department of Pediatrics for the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Dudas also serves as chair of general pediatrics, hospital and adolescent medicine at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and is program director of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship. He joined the hospital staff in 2015.

His clinical and education focus is on developing the pediatric residency program and directing the pediatric hospital medicine fellowship. Dr. Dudas’ educator ratings have placed him consistently among the top 10 percent of educators in the department of pediatrics for 10 years. In 2014, he received an international award for teaching from the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) and in 2015 he received the Academic Pediatric Association Teaching Award for Faculty.

Dr. Dudas earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He trained in pediatrics at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Dudas also earned a Science of Clinical Investigation Certificate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Research Summary

His research interests are in pediatric education for medical students with a focus on clinical skills development. Other projects include an innovative photograph-based intervention to help families develop better relationships with their healthcare team and another involving assessment of a novel patient safety curriculum introduced to medical students in the pediatric clerkship.
