Dr. Karen Horton is the Director of Imaging at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and a Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science. Her areas of clinical expertise include general and diagnostic radiology.
Dr. Horton received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in body imaging at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1998.
Dr. Horton also serves as the Director of Radiology Residency Education at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Under her direction, the residency program won the 2012 Aunt Minnie award from AuntMinnie.com, the radiology portal, for Best Radiologist Training Program.
Her research interests include the use of 3-D computed tomography (CT) imaging, particularly for imaging the pancreas and pancreatic tumors.
