Research Interests

Dr O'Brien is an authority on the production of cerebrospinal fluid and the amyloid Aβ peptide, both key steps in the development of memory and gait disorders; Dr. O'Brien's laboratory investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate the development and maintenance of excitatory synapses in the central nervous system

Dr O'Brien sees patients with memory disorders and with CSF disorders including normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
