Biography

Dr. Dinah Miller is an instructor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include adult and community psychiatry.

Dr. Miller received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. She completed her psychiatric residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1998 as a consulting psychiatrist for the Community Psychiatry Program.

She also has an outpatient private practice in Baltimore. She is a past president of the Maryland Psychiatric Society.

In 2006, Dr. Miller co-founded The Accessible Psychiatry Project to encourage dialogue about psychiatric disorders and their treatment, and to explore issues of controversy and misunderstanding in the field. The project includes Shrink Rap, a blog for psychiatrists; the podcast My Three Shrinks; and the book Shrink Rap: Three Psychiatrists Explain Their Work (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2011).

Dr. Miller is also the author of psychiatric novels including Home Inspection, Double Billing, and Monday at The Charm.
