Biography

Dr. McKhann is Professor of Neurology and the founding Chair of the Department of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as well as the founding Director of the Krieger Mind-Brain Institute at Johns Hopkins University.

He has authored 10 books on such topics as childhood neuropathies, Guillain-Barre'' syndrome, other diseases of the nervous system and the neurology of language, more than 130 scientific papers and 40 book chapters. Dr. McKhann is a scientific advisor to the Charles A. Dana Foundation and an executive committee member of the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives.

His research currently focuses vascular cognitive impairment, with a particular emphasis on the long term outcomes of coronary artery bypass grafting.
