Biography

Dr. Sabine Kost-Byerly is an associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care management at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical expertise include pediatric regional anesthesia, and acute and chronic pain in children and patient safety. Dr. Kost-Byerly also serves as the director of Pediatric Pain Management at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and is the director of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Pain Clinic at Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Dr. Kost-Byerly earned a medical degree from the Freie Universitaet in Berlin, Germany. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Maryland Hospital and a residency in anesthesiology and fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Her research interests include regional anesthesia and acute and chronic pain in pediatric patients.

She is board certified in pediatrics and anesthesiology and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Pain Society and the International Association for the Study of Pain.
