Gynecological imaging; Thyroid and neck imaging and interventions; Elastography; Critical pathways for optimal utilization of cross-sectional imaging modalities


Dr. Sheila Sheth is an Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Radiology and Radiological Science and the Department of Pathology. She serves as the Director of Fellowship Training Program for Cross-Sectional Imaging. Her areas of specialization include body computed tomography (CT), ultrasound and image-guided biopsy.

Dr. Sheth earned her medical degree from Centre Hospitalo Universitaire Necker -Enfants Malades in Paris, France, in 1979. She finished an internship in diagnostic radiology at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and concluded her training in Baltimore, MD, where she completed a residency in radiology at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and a fellowship in body imaging at Johns Hopkins.

Among her scholarly accomplishments, Dr. Sheth has published more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 15 book chapters. She is certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology, has served on various committees for professional medical societies, and was honored as a fellow of the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound in 2008 and the American College of Radiologists in 2009.
