Reitz Named "Distinguished Woman" By Girl Scouts of Central Maryland
Judy A. Reitz, Sc.D., executive vice president and chief operating officer at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, was honored recently as one of five Girl Scouts of Central Maryland Distinguished Women of 2002. The award honors women who best exemplify the ideals of ethics, leadership and character that each Girl Scout strives to achieve, the organization says.
Reitz, the first woman appointed to the executive vice president post at Hopkins, was selected from a diverse group of women in a wide range of professional careers. The event supports the efforts of Girl Scouts to develop and encourage leadership roles for girls in all sectors of society.
Reitz holds a doctor of science degree in health policy/health finance and management finance and management from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as a master of science and bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She is a member of the associate faculty of The Bloomberg School of Hygiene and Public Health and The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
