Lillie Shockney, R.N., B.S.N., M.A.S., director of outreach and education for the Breast Center, has received the 2001 Lane A. Adams Award for Excellence in Caring from the American Cancer Society (ACS) at its national meeting in Atlanta on June 8. The prestigious award is given annually to caregivers who demonstrate consistent excellence and innovation in providing compassionate skilled care and counsel to persons with cancer and their families. The ACS has been honoring individuals for their exemplary care for the last 15 years. Shockney was one of 11 awardees selected from nationwide nominations.
