James Hildreth, M.D., associate professor of pharmacology and molecular science and associate professor of pathology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, is the recipient of the Year 2000 Minority Access Alumnus Role Model award.
As the attached press release describes, Hildreth was selected for his efforts in recruiting under-represented minorities to graduate programs and his establishment of a minority graduate student association. He also was recently appointed director of the Office of Research and Training for the new National Center for Research on Minority Health and Health Disparities, a division of the National Institutes of Health.
