Long Term

Long-Term Research Experience Mentor

The Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Program Long-Term Research Experience
includes formal training culminating in a combined master degree (MPH or MHS) along with the MD degree.  Mentors participating in this program will receive a $3,000 stipend.  Trainees in this program are expected to meet with their mentor on a regular basis to design and collaborate on a research study and write up the results to fulfill their master’s capstone or thesis requirement.  The trainees are also encouraged to submit and present the results at a regional or national scientific meeting and to participate in the submission of the manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal.  In addition, trainees are expected to participate in PCRTP activities such as seminars and to attend a journal club during the year.  Our goal is to provide a well rounded long-term clinical research experience that will stimulate and maintain their interest in a clinical research career during their medical school and post-graduate training
