Lara's Interests

Lara Devgan is a fourth year medical student at Johns Hopkins taking off a year to earn an MPH in Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the School of Public Health. She is interested in clinical research related to surgery practice and outcomes. She is currently working with Martin Makary, MD, MPH, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Surgical Outcomes Research and Julie Frieschlag, MD, Chair of the Department of Surgery at Johns Hopkins on several projects related to frailty as a predictor of post-operative outcomes in elderly surgical patients. Her goal is to apply the techniques of evidence-based medicine to clinical surgery problems.
