Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling of drug action at cellular, tissue, and population level; chemoprevention of HIV transmission; pharmacology of the male genital tract; clinical development of antiviral drugs

We are interested in modeling approaches for efficient development of drugs. We develop these approaches by combining pharmacological principles and statistics. The pharmacological component includes the spatial distribution of drugs; the statistical component includes the models that can summarize drug movement and drug action at the population level. Projects include pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling for HIV chemoprevention trials and quantification of drugs/pathogens in accessory glands of the male genital tract.
