Welcome to the Pediatric Lung Transplant Program

Welcome to the Pediatric Lung Transplant Program

Johns Hopkins has been doing pediatric lung transplants since 1996. Transplantation has been performed for many conditions including cystic fibrosis, interstitial fibrosis and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. The pediatric lung transplant team manages children with end-stage lung disease pre-operatively as well as after transplantation.  We do 100% of all pediatric lung transplants for the state of Maryland and we also manage the care of international patients.

Our institution is a member of the International Pediatric Lung Transplant Collaborative, a group dedicated to improving care and outcomes of children following transplantation. The pediatric lung transplant team also works closely with the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center.
