SPLIT/FOG (Studies in Pediatric Liver Transplantation)/Functional Outcomes– We are one of a group of pediatric liver transplant centers  in the US, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), collecting clinical data on children who have been listed for and/or have undergone a pediatric liver transplant.

PALF (Pediatric Acute Liver Failure)  We are one of a group of pediatric liver centers in the US, funded by the NIH, searching for  the causes of this very serious conditions and investigating for methods  to improve outcomes.

BARC (Biliary Atresia Research Consortium) We are one of 10 centers in the US participating in this NIH-funded study to idenitify the cause/s of this disease (which is the most common reason children undergo liver transplantation) and how to best diagnose, treat, and ultimately, prevent biliary atresia.

CLIC (Cholestatic Liver Diseases of Childhood) We are one of several centers in the world combining forces to study 5 rare childhood liver diseases:

  • Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency
  • Alagilles disease
  • Prolonged familial cholestasis
  • Inborn errors of bile salt metabolism
  • Mitochondrial hepatopathies

NASH (Non Alcoholic SteatoHepatitis) We are one of several centers in the US studying the causes treatment and prevention of NASH
