Lauren graduated with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland, with a focus in program development and community organization. She recently joined the Department of Pediatric Surgery in November 2012.

Lauren develops instituion-wide child injury prevention initiatives, focusing on injury prevention education to patients and families in the trauma and burn units.  She also develops outreach programs to raise awareness within the community. In addition, Lauren conducts analysis of the Pediatric Trauma, State and National registry data to develop injury prevention priorities and aids in the development and evaluation of injury prevention initiatives in the community.  Lauren’s efforts aim to help Hopkins patients and the greater community live healthier, safer lives.
