Hoon Byun, MA
Hoon Byun serves as the Business Operations Analyst in the Department of Operations Integration. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of William and Mary, and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Virginia. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
His duties include overseeing and evaluating the budgetary performance of the OI functional unit, ensuring alignment of departmental short-term operations and organizational objectives, and consulting on ongoing projects within the Hospital.
Having been at Johns Hopkins since 2002, he has had broad exposure to different areas of research within the university, having been a senior analyst and programmer at the Health Services Research and Development Center, as well as at the HIV Research Network. Prior to that, he has worked in health policy research at the state and national level related to diagnosis-based and pharmaceutical-based risk adjustment, MCO capitation, and expenditure patterns of Medicare and Medicaid populations.
