Postoperative care for patients who have undergone gastrointestinal, plastic and oncology surgeries. We practice patient- and family-centered care, allowing family members to room in and participate in the care provided. All patient rooms are private. A family lounge and resource area support our patient- and family-centric environment.
Patient Population
- Ages 18 and up
- Diagnoses include pancreatic or liver cancer, GI surgery for both malignant and nonmalignant diagnoses, and various plastic surgeries
- Average length of stay: 3 to 6 days

Nurse/Patient Ratio
- 1:4-6
Rotation/Shifts
- 8 or 12 hours
- Most staff rotate a.m. and p.m. shifts, with about 35 percent rotation to p.m. shifts
Skill Mix
- 75 percent RN
- 25 percent clinical associates

- 6 to 8 weeks
