Urology/Thoracic/Telemetry (Zayed 11 West)

Pre- and postoperative care of inpatients undergoing surgical procedures associated with the thoracic and genitourinary systems, plus some general surgery patients.

Patient Population
  • Ages 16 and up
  • Services include: Care for transhiatal esophagectomy, thoracotomy, telemetry monitoring, Doppler monitoring, chest tube management, General Surgery, Ophthalmology
  • Average length of stay: 2 to 5 days
Number of Beds
  • 32
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • Telemetry 1:3
  • Non-telemetry days/Evenings 1:4-5
  • Non-telemetry nights 1:5-6
Rotation/Shifts
  • 8 and 12 hours
  • Day/evening, evenings, nights, weekend option available
  • Flexible, self-scheduling
Skill Mix
  • RN and Clinical Associate staff
