Rehabilitation

The Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program gives the nurse the opportunity to participate in a dynamic dialogue pertaining to each patient’s care. Literally that is true, because we conduct a thorough interdisciplinary discussion of each patient’s clinical and psycho-social assets and deficits, their goals and the team’s plan of care for them. Our team of Discharge Planners work with the patient, family and the rest of the team to develop and implement a well thought out plan to maximize the patient’s ability to succeed at home.

Diagnoses stretch across a broad spectrum from neurosurgery to stroke to solid organ transplant to trauma. Cardiac surgery, oncology, and ortho-spine patients round out the list. This is a great unit for new graduate nurses because you will receive a strong foundation of knowledge and assessment skills based on your ability to observe and critically think about what is happening with your patient and how you need to respond to the patient’s need. Nurses with two years of experience become eligible to take the certification course and sit for the certification exam in the specialty of rehabilitation nursing.

There is a high degree of collaboration between the nurses, therapists and physicians. Input and discussion about the patient’s care are content rich, including the patient and family themselves to direct their care. We are a CARF and Joint Commission accredited facility that strives to be a premier rehabilitative center in the region.
