General Radiology Holding – (Zayed)

  • Provide clinical management of patients undergoing MRI and CT exams including, but not limited to: IV access, central line management, education, crisis intervention, side effect management and pediatric sedation.
  • Monitoring patients pre- and post- ultrasound guided biopsies
  • Preparing patients for MRIs under anesthesia
Patient Population
  • All ages
  • Varying acuity
  • Inpatient and outpatient
Number of Beds
  • MRI: 3 scanners
  • CT: 2 scanners
  • General X-ray: 1 scanner
  • Holding Area: 13
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • 1:6
Rotation/Shifts
  • Monday-Friday; 7:00 am – 10:30 pm
Skill Mix
  • 75% RN; 50% BSN; 25% Clinical Associate
Required Competencies:
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills required (pediatric and adult);
  • Successful completion of the JHH sedation course
Orientation
  • Complete 10-16 week regular radiology orientation with 2 weeks specifically with Zayed Tower Radiology Holding Area nurses and modality specific technologists.
