Patient Population

• Pediatric (including neonates), adult, geriatric and multicultural

Number of Beds

• 16 Stretcher chairs (Including one isolation room)
• 1 Consult room
• 1 Isolation room

Nurse/Patient Ratio

• Assigned according to patient needs and peak volume

Rotation/Shifts

• 6am – 10:30pm week days, Flexible shifts based on patient volume; we have 8, 10, and 12 hours shifts. (on call on weekends and holidays 7am-11pm) minimal weekend, holiday

Skill Mix

• 13 Nurses – ( 12 RN; 1 LPN) ; 75% BSN; 8% MSN

Orientation

• Individualized with unit-based preceptor
• Observation of surgeries
• Rehabilitation and guiding of patients with low vision
• Sensitivity training
• New Grads: SPRING program
