Using PING to Pinpoint Care Team Members

Date: April 1, 2014

While many members of the Johns Hopkins community use PING, a Web-based messaging tool, to send custom messages to mobile devices, its search capabilities are underutilized. Follow these three steps to quickly identify the members of a patient’s care team.

  1. Access PING via the MyJHMI portal (my.jhmi.edu).
  2. Enter the patient’s medical record number in the search bar at the top of the screen and hit the “Search” button. Example: “MRN:1234567890”
  3. The returned results will include anyone who’s documented on that patient on today’s date in Sunrise Clinical Manager Provider Order Entry (POE) system.
