At press time, the magazine learned that Edward Miller, longtime dean of the School of Medicine and CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine, plans to retire on June 30, 2012. Describing Miller’s tenure as “nothing short of extraordinary,” Hopkins University President Ronald Daniels cited a long list of accomplishments. Among them: the hospital’s two new clinical towers, set to open next spring; new health care partnerships around the globe; the introduction of the Genes to Society curriculum; and the addition of four new hospitals to the Hopkins family. Look for more on the Dean/CEO's transformative impact in upcoming issues of the magazine.
