Culturally Diverse Networking
Date: March 1, 2013
Respect for diversity in the workplace requires vigilance.
To that end, career development for medical school faculty was one of the topics at a recent luncheon arranged by the school of medicine’s Office of Diversity and Cultural Competence.
The annual event brings administrators, senior faculty and staff together with junior faculty from culturally diverse backgrounds to foster opportunities for professional growth.
The ODCC hosts several networking receptions throughout the year to promote an inclusive campus environment that supports diversity at all levels.
Such events allow senior leadership to learn about the work experiences of junior staff and to offer career advice in an informal setting.
In addition, the ODCC solicits participants’ feedback to help with the planning of various diversity programs.
