Weather Alert

Last updated: Friday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m.

For Patients and Visitors to the Johns Hopkins Health System

At all of the Johns Hopkins hospitals we provide care for our patients around the clock despite any weather concerns. If you are a patient with questions, please contact your physician’s office directly to determine if your appointment or surgical procedure is still scheduled.

All Johns Hopkins Medicine outpatient clinics are open. Staff should report and patients with questions should call their providers’ office.

The Johns Hopkins Outpatient Pharmacies will be open during normal operating hours to be of service to patients and employees. Patients and visitors can conveniently fill prescriptions on campus eliminating the need to drive to a community pharmacy. Employees and their family members may also get their prescriptions filled.

For Faculty, Staff and Housestaff Working at The Johns Hopkins Hospital

As of Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 6:30 p.m. the hospital incident command center continues activation of the snow emergency plan, but downgraded to on-call and on-alert status. The plan will remain activated as long as necessary to return to normal operations. Each department incident command center will close when that department’s procedures have been completed and staff have been duly informed.

Our hospitals maintain all patient-care responsibilities regardless of the weather. On-site staff must remain on duty until new staff members arrive. Depending on weather severity, supervisors may keep staff already on site. When it’s necessary, nonclinical staff may be asked to help maintain control-center functions and to assist with patient care.
