Refer a Patient

To refer a patient to the Trigeminal Neuralgia team, you may fax a request with demographic information and a copy of your clinical notes to the attention of Carol James at 410.955.0626. She will then contact your patient directly to gather the necessary information and locate an available time.

If you prefer, you can ask that your patient contact Carol directly. Patients can leave a message for Carol James at 410.614.4449. Messages are typically returned within 48 hours.

In order to schedule an appointment, Carol will need to speak directly with the patient. We know that it can be painful to talk, but it is important to garner the subtleties that only the patient can describe. She will gather information, such as:

  • What makes their pain better or worse?
  • What medications have they been on to treat their condition, and what has their response been?
  • Describe what the pain feels like
  • Have they received an MRI?

We make every effort to get patients in to see a doctor within two weeks.
