Dr. Accardo attended St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD, where she received a B.A. in liberal arts. She went on to earn her medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Accardo completed her initial training in pediatrics at Cook County Children’s Hospital in Chicago, and a neurodevelopmental disabilities residency at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD.   She subsequently completed a three-year Sleep Medicine fellowship with a focus on pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania.

During her fellowship, she also undertook graduate studies in biostatistics and clinical research design at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.  Her research interests involve exploring the relationship between neurodevelopmental disabilities and sleep disorders in children.
