Modulators of Gene Expression

A new and exciting focus of our research is on the role of microRNAs, important modulators of gene expression. For the first time we have been able to characterize the profile of microRNA in different areas of the cerebral cortex in patients with autism and in normal subjects. This helps us understand how genetic regulation occurs in the brain of children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
