The Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus Center

An older patient may be suffering from dementia, problems with balance or gait and urinary incontinence. These symptoms can be caused by several diseases that typically affect the aging population. Or they might be caused by normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition that is characterized by accumulation of fluid in the brain.

The critical difference is that symptoms due to normal pressure hydrocephalus are reversible.

Our specialized team of neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuro-ophthalmologists are highly-trained to recognize, evaluate and treat normal pressure hydrocephalus, as well as idiopathic intracranial hypertension, also called Pseudotumor cerebri. Our goal is to eliminate the misdiagnosis that commonly occurs to our patients and provide the best medical and surgical treatment; so they can regain their health and continue to lead productive, meaningful lives.
