Dr. John Ratchford received his medical degree from Columbia University and a masters degree from Yale University. He completed his internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology at Columbia University. He then pursued a fellowship in Neuroimmunology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Now Assistant Professor of Neurology, Dr. Ratchford specializes in the care of patients with multiple sclerosis and spine disorders. His research focuses on the use of new imaging techniques in multiple sclerosis. One technology that is currently being studied at the center is use of an eye scanner that provides information about the health of the nerves in the retina. He also oversees several clinical trials for MS and optic neuritis, and he studies cognitive dysfunction in MS.

Dr. Ratchford sees patients with multiple sclerosis and spine disorders in the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center.
