At Hopkins, our mission is to improve the health of the community and the world by setting the standard of excellence in medical education, research and clinical care. As part of that mission, the Parkinson Disease and Movement Disorders Center strives to provide patient-centered care to you through a team of highly trained neurologists and health care professionals. Beyond the clinic, our activities are aimed at reducing the burden of Parkinson disease and movement disorders and include:

• World-renowned scientific discovery – To understand the cause of Parkinson disease and related disorders and to develop new targets for treatment
• Unique clinical programs – To deliver nationally recognized care through our Ataxia Center and Deep Brain Stimulation Program from experienced clinicians and surgeons
• Growing clinical research programs – To provide the opportunity to participate in clinical trials of promising interventions and other studies for many movement disorders
• Developing the next generation of specialists – To train future specialists to care for the increasing number of individuals with movement disorders in the U.S. and globally
• Robust outreach efforts – To enhance care through 90 support groups and innovative educational sessions that serve hundreds of individuals and their care partners
