Dr. Brian Appleby received his M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also completed an internship in Internal Medicine. He then came to Johns Hopkins where he completed residency training in Psychiatry as well as a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry.

Now an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Appleby is Co-Director of the Young-Onset Dementias Clinic. Dr. Appleby primarily focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with young-onset dementias (<65 years of age) and patients with suspected or confirmed prion diseases (e.g. Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, fatal familial insomnia, and Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker syndrome).

Dr. Appleby sees patients in the Young-Onset Dementias Clinic on Thursdays.
