He graduated from Juniata College in 1986 with a BS in Molecular Biology. He has worked with the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University since 1986.

As a senior laboratory manager he supervises and coordinates clinical and research labs in the neurologic implications of HIV and peripheral neuropathy.
